CRUSH GROUND THE SHARKS

Lincoln, NE- The Capital City Crush captured their 2nd victory of the season Saturday night against The Iowa Sharks 15-6.  The Crush came out of the gates fast scoring on their first drive of the game.  However both teams defenses rose up with the Crush leading 7-0 at Halftime.  The Crush once again scored on their first drive of the 2nd half, while The Sharks were able to also score a touchdown in the quarter.  Once again both defenses tightened up, with only The Crush Defense scoring a safety late in the 4th quarter.  The Crush held on to defeat The Sharks 15-6.

Comments from the Coach:

The Defense:  "I thought the Defense made some plays tonight when we really needed them to step up."  "I thought Jerrod Gray played some inspired football for us tonight, he had a great game."  "I also thought Danny Berks played a very physical game, he was all over the field."  "I know that we only gave up 6 points tonight, but I really think this Defense has yet to even play close to its best football."  "I told them tonight, if we are up by 7 late in the 4th quarter, I have all the faith in the world that they will rise up to the occasion."  "Now we need to have a great week of practice with The 2011 National Champion Des Moines Blaze coming to town."

The Offense:  "We had some bright spots tonight, I thought that we had a good running game, which is always great to see."  "The passing game was alright, but we know that we can improve, so now it is up to us to get to practice this week and make the necessary adjustments."  "I really think that the O-Line is really gelling nicely, I look forward to see just how good these guys can be."  "I thought John Fisher had a really strong game for us tonight, he ran the ball tough, and he made some catches for us."  "I thought Massa, McAnulty, and Friesen also made some really nice catches for us tonight."  "We still have a lot of things that we can improve, but I have no doubt that we will put in the work needed to improve.

The Team:  "It feels really good to be 2-0, I just want to thank our fans once again for your support."  "With that we will need everyone of you next week to help us out against The Des Moines Blaze, they are a great team, very well coached, and great players."  "Now it is up to us to have some strong practices this week, so we can be ready to go Saturday night."
